Understanding ‘A Dream to Real: God’s Wake-Up Call’

“A Dream to Real: God’s Wake-up Call”

When the alarm goes off and the crow flies;

It’s time for me to open my sleepy eyes.

I feel trouble stirring within my ahead;

It lies outside my bedroom window, by my bed.

My alarm didn’t go off; I woke up with a loud boom!

The sound was so loud it filled my room.

I look out the window; the neighbor’s house is in flames;

Am I not dreaming? I pray this is no game.

I knew there were children living next door

I’m yelling loud, I need to find all four.

Their mom and dad leave early for work;

Got to find their dog; he’s going berserk.

Sirens sound loud and so clear.

Fire trucks are arriving and finally here.

All occupants are safe, and the dog is alive.

The poor house didn’t survive.

Just thankful everyone’s safe and alive;

Personal belongings also didn’t survive.

Material possessions can be replaced;

This families alive with God’s grace.

As the children grow, a memory will remains;

Of the day their house went up in flames.

It will be something they will always know.

That God will be there always, while they grow.

And that God works in mysterious ways;

On the most disastrous of days.

For if they have been sleeping when the fire broke out;

And probably losing their lives, this I don’t doubt.

But God had a waken them, to save them from doom.

And for me to call their parents up, to home soon.

I’m fully awake now and glad this was just a dream;

It was so vivid and felt so real—so it did seem.

As I get ready for work, I peek out the window–

The neighbor’s outside giving his grass a mow.

Dear God, I pray, please contact me if there’s a family in need.

This dream was so scary, as it could actually have happen, indeed.

Amen

Authors note:

Dreams can feel so real that the reality someday will come true for you.

Let’s hope and pray it never does.
