Life Goes On: Remembrance and Healing

Life Must Go on!”

Today is my birthday, and you’re not here;

I miss you dearly; sometimes I wish I were there.

Yet my Lord has said my time has not come yet;

He’s planning something else for me, I just bet.

I remember many years ago; you were by my side;

As of today, I’m not sure if you’re alive or have died.

We were such a great artist and poet team;

Making loving hamsters come alive and seen.

But something happened many years ago;

But something happened many years ago;

And it wasn’t because of a snowstorm, I know.

The worst was another person; her light strong;

As she stuck invisibly in your heart, and no longer did, I belong.

I still think about the best times of watching you draw;

It was amazing how easily the pencil moved for you — that I saw.

Your talent just shined for the love of art;

It just glued to my heart.

I was so proud to see what you could do;

It was the worst day when you left me, boo-hoo.

I cried many tears for many days.

Wondering why I felt that way.

Lost was my soul in a world I’ll never again find.

Until I die, you’ll always be in my heart and mind;

I know I will go to my grave always loving you.

But get this, I bet you’ll never forget me either, will you?
