Molly’s Daily Adventures: Fun Stories from a Dog

A Dogs Day: of Molly Dog

Good morning, my name is Molly dog. I want to give you a little information of what, I do all day.  Since I’m a dog you’ll just have to bear with me. As I try this for the first time. Telling you humans about what I do all day as I’m a dog. A female one at that. I am also 8 years old and weigh one hundred and three pounds.

My owner wants me to tell everyone my day from start to finish. First off after a night of being all sprawled out on my masters, bedroom floor snoring. I wake up with a very dry mouth. So, I stretch a little then bug Mom (my human mom of course) to wake up. By licking her hand or elbow whichever is sticking out of her bed and that I can reach. See I don’t sleep in bed with them because I am too big. They would have to sleep on the floor and that wouldn’t be right.

Next when mom crawls out of bed, I get excited and want to go outside. I need to go potty, but I need to wait my turn. Mom needs the bathroom first, she needs to put her fur on and go potty, then… it’s my turn. And boy when that door opens to the outside; I run and take my whiz.

Then if there are any squirrels around in my yard, I let them know whose boss. I also check the bushes. For these little birds that like to poop in my water bucket mom puts out for me. That’s one thing I don’t care about, is their poop in my water. It tastes awful. But when you have a dry mouth like I got this morning, I’ll drink anything.

After my drink, it’s check out time for my nest. I made behind the bushes, making sure no one was in there overnight. And if there was, I scratch the ground over it to rid the smell. It’s like you changing the sheets on your bed. After all that has been inspected, yard comes next. Boy, do I smell the smells–my nose goes one hundred miles an hour. I smell the bunnies, raccoons and the red-tailed fox that has been nosing around in my yard. Birds well they sleep all night. And I don’t care if they walk around my yard at night.  I do this for about two hours as my yard is quite big.

Every now and then I do bark obsessively at the neighbors going to work. Or if there is something not normal around our house. Like a cat! Or the neighbor boys with their girlfriends talking. I really don’t like the UPS, FedEx or Amazon trucks. I race with them barking all the time till I think I chased them away. Mom or dad always comes out yelling for me to shut up and stop barking. I don’t until those trucks are gone from my sight.

My best part of the day is sleeping in my nest behind the bushes, I dug for myself. I can sneak attack any walkers by or squirrel I hear. My hearing is really good at sensing things like that and so is my nose. Sometimes there is a lady she stops by our house rolls her window down. She yells “Hi Molly” and waves at me. Or the children in the neighborhood come visit and want to pet me. I like children. They are nice to me especially this one who comes over to brush me and gives me the biggest hugs. She only stays a short while awhile.

I’m getting hungry; it’s time to bark at the house to go in. I can’t knock so if my owners can’t hear me. Then, I start scratching at the door that usually does the trick.  Well, my day is about to end. It’s supper time and I’m starving. Mom usually makes my food; I make her treat me like a kid. She spoon feeds me to get me started. Then if the food she made tastes good to me, I just start chomping away cause she’s to slow. After dinner I go to my room and relax my tummy. Later on, I’ll bug mom for some Ice-cold water. Then she let’s me outside to do my duties before turning in for the night. This was my day. I hope you liked it. I was going to make it longer, but I thought this was good enough. So if my story seems out of place or you run out of air reading. Excuse me, I’m a dog remember. I didn’t go to school for English class like you did. Just enjoy. Ruff, Ruff.

Good night, sleep tight. I’m going to my nest for some rest. This has exhausted me.
