The Bond of Grandparents and Grandchildren: A Sunday Adventure

“Sunday Ride: Smiles Don’t Hide”

What a way to spend the day,

Going to see the grandchildren today.

Grandpa at the wheel, strolling along–

“Children we are coming won’t be long.”

Flowers for Mother–we can’t forget her,

Our bodies are young but not as they were.

Grandchildren are fun, with energy to burn.

Grandmas’ hugs, they still truly yearn.

As age creeps up, we grandparents slow down,

Our grandchildren move and go all over town.

It is sad when a grandparent’s love is lost…

Do the grandchildren understand the cost?

A love once had been now gone forever,

Only memories stay, no hugs, never.

Enjoy the beauty and love of today,

As tomorrow can vanish before the end of day.
