Humor Story: The Beauty Day Disaster of Sorority Girls

Sorority Girls: Beauty Day Fiasco

We’ve all heard of the three stooges—Larry, Moe, and Curly—haven’t we? Well, these fine ladies are: Meany, Miney, and Flo. Flo, who just recently stubbed her left toe.

Every Saturday these three ladies would meet at Shirley’s Hair and Feather Salon to get their feathers steam cleaned. Farm life can get awfully dirty—tractors plowing fields, cows, horses and pigs running around. These ladies like to make themselves prim and proper for whomever comes their way.

On this one Saturday, the girls all met at the Salon. A strange man was also in the salon. Not the normal technician who would do their steam cleaning treatments.

This upset Meany; she has the biggest beak of the bunch (and mouth), squawked the loudest. Miney didn’t care, either way. And Flo…well, she liked what she saw.

Tall, slender and wearing a tool belt. Flo loved men with tools. She always got excited when they came to fix the chicken coop screen or clean out the coop. She was always there to watch.

But Meany put Flo in her place in a hurry. “Shut up, Flo, we are here to get our feathers steamed not to flirt with the workers.”

Flo quieted down.

Meany, with her wings on her hips, looked at the man with all the too ls. Demanding, “What are you doing here, interrupting our scheduled feather steaming? And what is your name, sir?”

“I’m Tim Allen, here to give more power to these feather dryers and steamers. You women say they don’t dry your feathers fast enough. So, I’m going to give them “More Power!” “Is that alright with you!?”

Flo pipes in, “It sure is Tim; you know you’re a hunk of a man?”

Miney: “Flo! Stop that. Let the man do his job.”

Meany “Get it fixed fast, I’m not leaving without my feathers steam cleaned!”

Tim’s moving as fast as he can, giving the dryers and steamers more power, but suddenly the power went out!

Meany and her big mouth yelled, “What in the world just happened? Why did the power go out? I know you repairman; what’s your name again?”

Flo, again speaks up, “It’s Tim Allen, the tool man.”

Meeny says, “Who asked you?” Flo quietly heads for the door in the dark, where there is light outside. Miney! Are you still here?”

“Yes, Meany, I’m still here.” said Miney. “What you need?”

“Do you still have that flashlight you got for Farmer’s Market Day? Can you find it so I can sit down. Until, Tim gets the steamers fixed and the lights back on?” Meeny requests of Miney.

Tim pipes in his two cents, “I should be done with the lights in a minute or two. Patience ladies please.”

He flips the switch. All the steamers are going crazy. Red, green, mixed, and black glitters flying all over the place. It’s decorating the girls with colored speckles and making Meany angry! The lights come on and wow!

Tim just laughs at the two hens. “You ladies look beautiful in color.”

Meany, and Miney, were so angry at Tim, they left the salon storming mad. Each shaking the glitter from their unfinished-streamed feathers! Tim yelling at them as they scurried out the door, “But you didn’t get your feathers steamed!” Tim’s laughing.
