The Puzzle of Us in a World Shaped by Grace

“The Puzzle of Us in a World Shaped by Grace”

We have one eye here, one eye there.

A nose with one nostril here, one there–

A set of lips to complete our face.

That God gave us with His grace.

He added two ears, right and left.

Gave us a smile and ears not deaf.

He added legs to make you move.

So, he can watch us dance to the groove.

God notices everything about us, even our hair.

As He is here, there and everywhere.

He gave us toes and fingers so we could touch.

Even though we know a few of us, we didn’t get too much.

When God created us, we were perfect in his eyes;

Yet some of us have gotten a different disguise.

Meaning we have different hair.

Some curly, some straight, some dark or fair.

Just like our skin, God made unique tones.

For the world and its different living zones.

God’s a smart man when he created the human being.

It’s amazing looking around; it’s amazing what I’m seeing.

The world and all its beauty, so artistically done,

I bet God the creator had a lot of fun.

Putting this great puzzle all together.

I’m sure it was a heavy job, and to add weather.

This creator did all this — world, people, animals and all.

In six days, if we’re not careful, we could make it fall.

And for us, we could do it in one day without fail

And no one will go to jail.

As the world as we know, will be gone, kaput.

All destroyed and made to soot.

It’s so sad to live in this kind of fear.

When living here is so dear.

Let’s use our eyes and ears.

To strip away the many fears.

And to live in grace as we were blessed.

And avoid all the chaos and the mess.

For You shaped life with tender care—

Each breath, each heartbeat, every hair.

So, guide us, Lord, to choose what’s right,

Walk us through this in peaceful light.
