Facing Fears: Dink the Chipmunk’s Journey

“I’m Undecidable Chipmunk: Which Way Do I Go?

Do I go left, or do I go right?

I’m so small, and short of sight.

Cars are coming — those big, mean metal things;

Ran a friend’s tail over, now he squeals when he sings.

I’d better speed up, making up my mind;

Or my friends will think I’m blind.

For they may find me on this road as roadkill.

For I should move soon; I can’t just stand still.

Do I go left, or do I go right?

They’re coming closer; I’m full of fright!

Go body move, one way or the other–

Mother!

Legs, get a move on, run fast!

I’m out of the way at last.

I got to stop freezing like that.

Cause one day, I may meet up with a cat.

And I know I can’t outrun a cat. I don’t think.

Well, I’m safe now; my name is Dink!

Dink is short for dinky;

I hate being teased and called stinky.

That’s how life is down here;

You can’t live with fear.

Got to believe in who you are;

As in life, you are the STAR!
