“When Logic Takes a Day Off”
Have you ever seen a price drop?
Is it anything like a balloon pop?
Have you heard a cow go, “neigh.”
Or watched a horse cook up its hay?
Those questions are silly questions, but;
Somewhere, someone still yelled, “What!”
Silliness is all over, no matter where you are;
In China, Australia, Africa — near or far.
Everyone has said stranger things, I’m sure.
Just look at the show, “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir;”
Or even the show “Ghost and Mr. Chicken” —
Two goofy movie classics ripe for pickin’.
I love odd and strange things, such as that.
Like someone who can play a tune with their nose.
Or two spoons tuned into a musical show;
Or glasses of water, playing a tune I know.
Silly things can happen at the weirdest times;
Even when church bells ring their chimes.
When we talk too fast, our thoughts mis-align;
Making one wonder, are you out of your mind?
Like using a lawn mower to blow the snow;
Or using a snow blower when you need to mow.
We people can do the darndest things —
I bet that’s the way laughter always sings.
So have I ever seen a price drop?
Nope, “price adjustments” at a retail shop.
A balloon pop? Of course, I have seen that scene;
I have seen them leave children’s hands and be mean.
As far as a cow neighs? A horse that cooks?
I’ll leave these silly thoughts for children’s storybooks.
These are my silly answers for my crazy thoughts.
But these words of mine — they can’t be bought.
They’re my pride and joy, my silly fun stuff;
That only my mind can think, when I’ve had enough.
So entertain yourself when boredom is at your brain’s door;
There is endless fun in the words that your brain hoards.
So, have fun.
Now I’m done!

Written on a day when my brain decided to clock out early and leave creativity in charge. I hope you enjoy.
