“Birthday Blunder”

Birthday Ice Cream cakes need no refrigeration before serving guests.

The story behind it is a true to life one. It came about when our grandson wanted an ice cream birthday cake for his birthday. So, grandpa went to the store got him one earlier in that day. When he was putting away the groceries, he put the cake in the refrigerator not the freezer. It thawed some before our grandson got to come over for it. When it came time to cut it was a thawed – hence the puddle cake as our grandson called it. For years after he always asked grandpa for a puddle cake for his birthday. He’s now 15. And that day is always remembered as puddle cake day.
