Real Things, Imagined Things, and Everything In Between

Reality-A Question After Dark

What do we think when we hear the word “reality”?

We hear it, and we want to believe that it means real.

Like the pain when we stub our toes, that’s real.

Or when we play ball and it hits and breaks our nose.

These things are real–we feel them through pain.

But what if it’s a trick by a magician? Is that reality?

It’s trickery at its finest–we ask, “How did he do that?”

The magic is an illusion of reality, for the sight and mind.

Reality can be just about everything we see;

But what about a ghost or a nighttime dream?

Are they realities? Can you touch or feel them?

They sometimes feel real, deep in your soul, yet stay a myth.

Myths confuse reality–are they real or not?

Explore them, research, and question the plot.

You’ll be surprised at what you’ll find;

With the news showing what’s outlined.

I see a tree, I know it’s real.

I can touch it, smell it and feel.

So, I know reality from fake…

Do you?
