“Remembering a Great Clown”
He was the oldest of all the clowns,
With the most uneven frowns.
Du-pa-snooth was ninety-one years old,
Had the biggest heart, of the purest gold.
He loved being a circus clown.
For kids and adults from every town.
I loved the clown Du-pa-snooth,
With his big, floppy, shiny boots!
He’d spend an hour getting ready for the show,
Putting his body slowly into his bibs, you know.
He loved being a clown, with the uneven frown.
Du-pa-snooth lived to be the greatest clown.
I would just see him in his dressing room mirror,
Remembering children all laughing and cheering.
He must have thought; I’m ninety-one,
I’m a child who loves to have fun.
After his show, he’d laugh, honk his horn, and cheer;
Then he’d look to the heavens and say, “I still got it, dear!”
What a special man he was, yet the Lord said it was time to go.
Du-pa-snooth, a special clown that everyone loved, so.
RIP
