“A Dogs Prayer”
Dear Lord, hear my puppy prayer,
I’m a dog, and my prayer is rare.
I want to pray;
For my Master, today.
He left me today all alone;
I’m not yet full grown.
I heard Him talking the other day;
He needed some kind of surgery today.
I whimper to you, please pull Him through;
I love my Master, I really do.
I’d miss him dearly; I’d miss our walks,
I’d miss my Master, and puppy talks.
I’d miss the special food he makes me;
I love those treats also; he makes you see.
Most of all, Lord, I’d miss my companion for life;
See, my Master, he has no companion wife.
His wife died; now he only has wee little me.
I’m begging—hear this prayer, you above the tree;
Please let my master live;
So, my love, I can always give.
Thank you for listening to my puppy prayer;
I’m so grateful you listen; I pray you really care.
Cause dogs don’t say prayers,
About their Masters, who are ill and care.
Amen
