“Millie’s Colorful Spring Flowers Poem”
“Millie, what a bunch of beautiful flowers you have;
are you planning to plant a garden in your yard?”
“Yes, I surely am, I want it so beautiful, so I can enter a contest.
So, I am going to plant every flower to look its very best!
I even bought roses in lots of colors to remind me of Mom on her birthday.
As I surprised her with a dozen long stem roses on that special day.
My garden will have Daffodils, Tulips, and Hyacinth, flowers too.
They are the first to come up in spring after the winter blues.
Then I’ll plant Marigolds, Pansies and Petunias. They were on sale,
And to my delight — white Daisies were to with a planting pail!
Then, I figured I’ll put roses in my front yard’s garden bed;
with Daffodils, Tulips, and Hyacinths in front; at the head.
Roses bloom after the others, it’ll be pretty when all is through.
In the backyard, I’ll put a vegetable garden in; I love vegetables too!
I will have so much to do, it will be great fun and so exciting.
My gardens will be so pretty, and smell so inviting.
You’ll always see me out there tending to my plants,
I don’t care if I end up with green knees or dirty pants.
I love gardening, it’s so rewarding heart and soul.
Watching things grow makes me feel so whole.”
