“Words That Rhyme: I Ran Out of Time”

Words that rhyme,

Are out of time.

I kicked a can;

Right into the fan.

I made a mistake;

I dropped the cake.

I never know what I’ll do,

Because I can’t even tie my shoe.

I drank my coffee oh so fast;

This will be my very last.

Got to get going, it’s getting late;

I forgot I had a date!

This rhyme is getting mighty long,

Maybe I’m trying to write a song.

Oh, give me a home,

Where the bugs, don’t roam.

And I’ll… be happy all day!

Fun Authors Note: This poem started as a simple rhyme and quickly spiraled into the kind of everyday chaos I know all too well. And just when I thought I’d run out of lines, a familiar old tune wandered in — with a bug‑free twist. Sometimes the best endings are the ones that sneak up on you.
