“Ode to Those Who Repair Our Roads”

To street crews who repair roads each day,

Walking through streets shaped by fragile decay

Lifting our spirits more than you may know,

With every pothole filled, you choose not to show.

We see the heart of your work you craft each time,

The newness, the joy, of your care in each design.

Your patches are a testament that someone cares.

To share a twinkle, and us, drivers from costly repairs.

So, here’s my ode to all of you; sincere and overdue:
