Lessons on Friendship in a Charming Children’s Story

“Fergus Blue the Talking Horse”

Hello, I’m Fergus, the talking horse; nice to meet you all.

I don’t know who drew me; all I know is, it’s Fall.

I want to tell you a story about my human friend, Jim.

Jim loves to go fishing and wishes that he could swim.

See, he has a knack for fishing, but he’s getting old.

His son and daughter love him, like he’s carved of gold.

His best friend is his wife; she’s sweet and understanding.

Jim love’s that, he thinks she’s great, being not very demanding.

She’s easygoing and basically goes with the flow of everything.

Even when Jim does all those dumb, little, ridiculous things.

Like eats, a whole pecan pie all at once, that’s just dumb.

Or wearing his shirt and underwear backwards, looking like a bum.

He’s still my human friend, just a little goofy and strange;

Maybe even just a little — maybe just slightly deranged.

But Jim’s still my loyal buddy and closest friend.

Until one of us dies, and that will be the friendship’s end.

So ends my story of Jim, the friend who says he never wins.

I just thank God I’m a horse and not his biological twin!

Sorry to say, Jim he, didn’t catch any fish today!

Goodbye, children. Hope you have a wonderful day!
