It’s Tuesday: A Rainy Day of Naps, Dogs, and Missed Garbage

“It’s Tuesday”

It’s just a Tuesday, and I’m bored to death.

Can’t run for the dog — I’d be out of breath.

Neighbor yelling he’s barking too much;

Noon whistle goes off… well, now it’s lunch.

Lunch is finished — nap time, a half hour or so.

Oh great, where did the whole afternoon go?

Dog’s still outside and it’s starting to rain;

He’s soaked to the skin — I’m the one to blame.

I grab a towel to dry him off,

Stinky wet dog makes me cough.

Dog comes in; I turn on the television,

Waiting for rain to stop — that’s my grand vision.

Rain finally stops, but it’s dark outside.

Oh no — garbage day, and it’s still inside.

Guess I’ll wait until pick‑up next week;

Not enough trash to worry about, so to speak.

It’s almost bedtime, but I took that long nap.

Now what do I do? This wokeness is crap.

I hate it when I sleep too long —

At bedtime I’m a grouchy ding‑dong.

I’ve got to set an alarm next time,

Make it nice and loud so I hear the chime.

Then I can go to bed and fall asleep right there,

Rest till morning — not just thinking and staring.

And it’s only Tuesday… where did Monday go?

If I hadn’t slept through it, maybe I’d know.
