Reflecting on Technology and Tradition

Old rotary phone next to modern smartphone, tablet, and laptop on a wooden desk

“Forever Gone”

When we come and go so much

Sometimes we become out of touch.

With cell phones and cameras at hand

Sometimes life isn’t always that grand.

I liked the wall phone ringing,

As you never knew who was calling

It may be brother, sister, mom or dad;

Or something worse that made you sad.

This new age of computers and such

Isn’t too nice; I don’t care about it much.

There is no feeling; it’s cold to touch.

And many use it for their security and crutch.

No matter where you go, it’s always there

Today’s life isn’t anything from past to compare

It’s all on the World Wide Web

You can find everything, even me, Deb!

Just punch in anyone’s name

Load up and fun game

It’s all right there in your hands.

Making life simpler and supposable grand.

Like I said earlier in this write…

There is no need to fight;

Just ask it a question; it will answer

If that isn’t life, oh yes, sir.

We can just come and go

Never lose touch of anything so.

I prefer the old fashion ways,

Those were the good old days!
