“When Worlds Clash”
When worlds clash and words fly,
Watch out. People are bound to cry.
For one sees only half the scene,
While others sense what lies between.
Some think they know the primary plan,
Yet forget the leader who directs the band.
Music can’t play when music’s not written.
Might as well take a trip or feed a kitten.
Even kittens know what’s a delicious delight;
If not, they get sick, what a dreadful sight
Nibble on the wrong stuff, and sure enough,
They end up sick from the bad-tasting stuff.
But people read only what they want to see,
Is it factual truth, or their own made-up fantasy?
When they look and listen with only one ear,
They spread confusion, doubt, and fear.
Yet when both eyes and ears are open wide,
A gentler meaning lives inside.
And suddenly the words once blurred
Become the truest ones we’ve heard.
Author’s Note: Sometimes people hear only what they want to hear — and miss the harmony beneath the noise. This poem reminds us that understanding takes both eyes and ears open, and a little humility to see the full picture. Written with humor and heart, because even kittens know better than to nibble on the wrong thing.
