“To Mute or Salute?”

Some sites say it’s okay to mute,

Others say, “Don’t mute, salute!”

Cowardice of reading is not its root;

It’s certain writers’ words they want to mute.

~

Whether it’s a long or a very short write,

It’s like a dessert that doesn’t taste right.

For that reason alone, sometimes

New writers’ words become “illegal crimes.”

~

So to mute or not to mute?

Belongs to those who have a big snoot!

We need to teach what we know

So every new writer can have time to grow.

~

So why mute, not teach?

Do it kindly, don’t preach.

Be a person for the people,

Not a cold, condemned church steeple.

~

So, I’ll end on this one note:

Quit sinking other people’s precious boat
