Cherishing Memories: God’s Gifts of Friendship

“Photographs and Memories: God’s Sacred Gifts”

When days turn to hours and the wilting of flowers

Friendships soon sail away with the surely left hours.

Friendships made of understanding, of who you are

Sometimes, not always, makes one feel like a shining star.

~

A pedestal, a monument of stone and bronze

They’re never needed in friendships, like the one of Fonz.

Friendships buried deep within one’s heart are,

Memories that stay preserved and don’t simply drift away and break apart.

~

I’ve had a few loyal friends, many miles across the oceans away

I wish I were younger, where I could see them in person someday.

As money grows low and age making me feel like a shrew

There’s an emptiness around me of friendships I once knew

~

But within the scrapbook pages, those memories lie;

With each memory, I realize I sometimes want to cry.

The rehashing of what was so loving, understanding, and great

Is all I can do today is realize this is my future and my fate.

~

For it was all sacred gifts from my loving God above;

Who cradled my friends and I in His tender loving, love.
