Heavenly Bowler: A Playful Prose Poem About God, Storms, and Thunder

A fantasy scene of God bowling on a cloud top lane, angels taking photos with bright flashes, and lightning bolts striking beneath the clouds as the ball hits the pins.

“Heavenly Bowler”

As thunder rolls across the darken sky, the storm comes.

The air becomes heavy dark and damp, it rains.

Down-pouring rain, lightning flashing, thunder booming.

A great storm has arrived. With God at the helm. He loves to bowl.

~

He says, “You’ll need the rain, the grounds to dry; get my bowling ball.”

With every ball I send down the alley; there will be thunder with every strike.

Beautiful angels are here with their cameras ready. Snapping pictures, I like.

The moment I am ready, those ten pins will fall.

~

Those lightning flashes come with every picture they take.

My angels are flashing more than they should be.

But I know one thing: you on Earth surely can see.

My camera flashing angels and hear my ten pin strikes.

~

Be careful to find cover when the fans blast on.

As trees may fall, roads may flood, roofs may fly,

All because of this crazy God of yours, is bowling in the sky.
