(Little hands, big lessons– responsibility starts at home.)
“Responsible Kids for Our Future”
~
All hands-on deck!
This house is a wreck.
It needs to be cleaned;
And Mom’s not being mean!
~
Sally, pick up those dirty dishes;
Do as your mother wishes.
Ben, those are your pride and joy;
Put them all away, every toy.
~
You kids must learn to keep things clean;
I like a tidy house –I’m not being mean.
Responsibility is something you must learn;
Mom will teach you, firm but fair and stern.
~
We are going room to room, making them spick-and-span;
Don’t pout or cry — just do what you can.
Life has rules you’ll need to follow;
They start at home, where lessons follow.
~
So get moving — dishes out, toys picked up;
It helps you grow and shapes you up.
Grandma taught me this when I was a kid;
If we didn’t mind, she’d switch us — and we hid!
~
I’m not that mean, though a paddle waits for you;
I don’t want to use it — since you know now what to do.
So, move those little hands, legs, and feet;
Make Mom proud by keeping everything neat.
~
Let’s make our house a nice, neat home;
Follow through, and Mom won’t moan.
Responsible children keep homes from being a wreck;
Everything’s better with all hands-on deck!
