Restoring Hope: A Prayer for the Omar Family

Family of five kneeling and praying outside a burning house at night

“A Prayer for Omar Family: After the Fire”

~

Mr. Omar’s family cries tears of sorrow,

Crying, where will they be living tomorrow?

The family’s house is being destroyed by fire;

It is something they would have never desired.

 ~

As the winds fanned the flames higher and higher,

They all looked upon their home, a ball of fire.

With nowhere to go, they are crying, aware;

That their necessities are gone—and now scared.

 ~

Police and firefighters are trying their best,

Working hard to put their house out, with no rest.

Mr. Omar, worried. What will the future bring?

His children and wife are crying; losing everything.

 ~

Their house insurance was canceled not even a month ago.

He can’t work; fire destroyed his car, now he needs to let his employer know…

He’s in shambles, wondering where his family, all go?

Dear Lord, I pray for your help; the Omar family is alone and scared, you know.

 ~

Their house is gone, money is gone, belongings are nil.

I see Mr. Omar pacing every day, praying to you with all his living will.

Guide him through all this, please, Lord; I don’t want to beg you;

Yet I know you’ll understand that they are frightened and don’t know what to do.

 ~

Lord, please hear our prayers, send us a sign that this fire is not your design.

Show us the people he’ll need to care for his family, so they will be fine.

We’re counting on you, Lord, for comfort and sanity in these stressful times;

Please help us find new shelter; with what’s left of our ghostly nickels and dimes.

~

With this family and I pray to you, Amen.
