Flood Water to Sunshine – A Poem of Relief After the Storm

Backyard garden with wet stone path, wooden bench, green lawn, and house in background

“Flood Water to Sunshine”

~

Hip hip hurray,

It’s beautiful and sunny today!

The air is warm and dry;

This day almost makes me cry.

~

After all we have been through,

And to see the sky so bright and blue…

We’ve seen and heard too much rain,

As it caused flooding, worry and pain.

 ~

 Now the water’s finally drying up;

Looking around, sipping from my coffee cup.

A few blades of grass, dirty, but beautiful.

Hopefully, soon it yard be cookout, usable.

 ~

God, I thank You for stopping the rain;

I’m sorry I had to complain.

Thank You for the warm and gentle sun,

So, I can get back, using my yard for fun.
