Life and People: Perspectives in Poetry

“People of Life”

Life is full of people, good and bad;

Grumpy, happy, and some even quite mad.

All kinds of people make the world complete;

Maybe not as good as ice cream.  A delightful treat.

~

But it’s our world just the same;

Each of us has his or her own name.

Some like it, and a few maybe not;

We are the ones that are many times, forgot!

~

But in life we can live one day at a time;

Many days and nights, they sometimes may not rhyme.

Yet, the clock still moves, though never fast;

So, the bad days we have will eventually pass.

~

People of all shapes, colors, and sizes make up life.

It’s never easy to change forms without strife.

Our Lord and Savior made us perfect at birth;

Look what’s happened. Now how much is it worth?

~

We destroy our bodies; male to female-female to male.

Just to live differently, like mixing a strange cocktail?

Everyone should know we all bleed the same;

Life to many is just another type of game.

~

Give them a game board, cards and some dice;

Let them roll in the game of life; it’s their choice.

I’ll live my life, not playing the same game;

I’ll choose peace and harmony to keep me sane.
