Life Is Like a Bat and Ball – Inspirational Baseball Poem About Perseverance

Baseball bat and ball beside home plate at dusk

“Life is Like a Bat and Ball”

Grab a bat and ball to face the day

Can’t hit the ball? What the, hey.

Try once again to do your best;

Now the ball is the test.

~

Swing once more; try to hit;

Try harder — just a bit.

Two strikes down, you’re almost out;

Night is coming, no time to pout.

~

Third try now, calm them nerves;

Life is full of many curves.

Here comes the last ball —

Will it be today’s last call?

~

It’s a great hit! Take off fast!

A catch and throw may be your last.

Run faster, from base to base,

Slide home with a smile on your face.

~

This game of life has ended once more;

Go home to rest; close the door.

You don’t need the equipment anymore;

You have made a home run; your daily score.
