Saint vs Not – Faith and Forgiveness Poem

“Saint vs Not”

~

Everyone tells me I’m a saint,

But I surely am not.

I’m no better than anyone around—

It’s awful as it might sound.

~

There is only one perfect person, and it’s not me;

It’s my Lord and Savior, you see.

As I am human and allowed to err,

It’s a life I proudly wear.

~

The good Lord is the perfect one;

He even gave up his only, Son.

So he could forgive my past mistakes

Just love the two; that’s all it takes.

~

So even when they call me a saint,

I always think that I am not.

Believe in the Lord as I do—

Receive forgiveness and begin again, brand new.
