Pouring Rain: Differences in Life — A Humorous Look at Life’s Little Storms

The Stormy Weather Forecast. The sky turns purple-grey and glum, The mailbox spits a final sum. The bills pile up, a paper wall, The cat just knocked the ancient vase to fall. A sudden splat, oh goodness no! The car is cursed with bird dodo. It feels like clouds have found their way To dump all troubles on your day. But then, a neighbor (slightly strange) Brings cookies with surprise exchange. A text arrives: “Hey, thinking of you!” And suddenly the sky feels blue. A clumsy hug from sticky hands, A friend who somehow understands. A crazy laugh, a bit of dopey hope, That helps you find a way to cope. So when the weather’s looking tough, And you have surely had enough, Remember storms don’t only pour. They sprinkle kindness by your door. A mix of chaos, muck, and light, That keeps life interesting and bright.

“Pouring Rain: Differences in Life”

~

When it rains, it pours.

It’s not only water —

It’s bills, pills and

other nasty stuff.

 ~

Nasty stuff meaning

leaves in gutters,

Bird dodo on windows;

Ants in the garden

Crawling up your pants.

 ~

And honestly, when it rains —

I’m always wishing it would pour graciously.

With a few dollars here,

Maybe a few dollars there.

Now, I want a hug with some loving care.

 ~

So when I say “When it rains, it pours,”

To the nasty stuff, I say, “Up yours!”

But when it pours nicely,

I’ll love it even more.
