My Son | A Mother’s Reflection on Love, Growth & Joy

Child swinging at a playground while a woman watches from a bench

“My Son”

~

As I watch my son as he plays upon the swing?

I sometimes wonder what his little heart will bring?

Will it be a kiss upon my rosy cheek?

A hug with his little arms that are so meek?

~

For his arms are so small, yet his arms give big hugs,

yet big enough to chase Earth’s little bugs.

Our children are so sweet, innocent and pure,

You got to love them, that’s for sure.

~

Questions like, “Mom, what is this? What is that?”

Then I say, “Come sit down here and we will chat.”

Ask your little heart away!

Mom, will surely listen and say…

~

What you need to learn and grow,

I will teach you to help you to know…

That life is always full of questions, my dear boy.

Who brings Mom’s heart so much love and joy!
